Auntie Shay’s Beginnings
I grew up in the Dallas area and have lived here Wylie for the last 20 years. I am part of a multi-generational household that includes my daughter, my brother, my niece, my mother, and our two dogs. Family is incredibly important to me. Living with all together has taught me a lot about patience, communication, and the different ways people learn and grow.
I begin my career with children before I even graduated high school. As part of a work program, at 16, I began working at a Richardson ISD after-school child development center. For the next ten years I worked as the lead teacher at a couple preschools. In 2011 my daughter was born and I transitioned to being a Nanny. While my daughter was young I was blessed to work for a lovely family helping raise their two girls. When I started the oldest was six weeks old. Her sister was born five years later. I worked with for 10 years, we are still close to this day. I took a few years off to help care for my niece during my brothers relocation across country back to Texas.
At the end of last year I began exploring continuing education around newborn care. After completing some advanced certifications I found and completed a course for Newborn Care Specialist, NCS. Passion ignited! Auntie Shay was born!
I draw on years of hands on experience to create environments where babies feel secure, comfortable, and connected, even during one-time or short-notice jobs. I’ve learned how to read an infants cues, meet them where they are, and build trust from the very first moments we are together.

At Auntie Shay, our mission is to cultivate a positive and loving relationship between parents and babies by empowering caregivers through instructive information and active coaching. We understand that parenting and motherhood—whether it’s your first time or your fourth—comes with countless choices and advice from many sources, often with conflicting information. We are committed to providing complete support in any way possible, with cultural and religious flexibility and exclusivity.
Our comprehensive services are designed to support parents at every stage of their newborn journey. From personalized consultations and demonstrations to product research and designing developmentally appropriate routines, we provide the guidance and expertise families need. We also offer in-house care options including overnight care, awake overnight care, 24-hour care, temporary daytime care, and specialized sleep conditioning to help your family thrive.
